Philip Demetrius Georges

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our brother, Philip Demetrius Georges, who passed away on May 29, 2026, at the age of 71, in Salt Lake City, Utah, due to complications from a surgery.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Alexander and Elizabeth Georges, Phil grew up in the city that would always be part of his story. He attended John Marshall High School and later spent a year at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Throughout his life, Phil worked as a salesman for CTSI (Cox) Cable TV and Broadband, managed a Nino’s Steak Roundup owned by the family of his longtime friend Nino Costarella, and sold stereo equipment.

Phil had a gregarious personality, the gift of gab, and a mechanically oriented mind. He had an ability to absorb and remember the smallest details, particularly when it came to stereo equipment, entertainment systems, and automobiles. He delighted in sharing his knowledge with anyone willing to listen. Whether speaking with family, longtime friends, an Uber driver, or a waiter he had just met, Phil could turn an ordinary encounter into a memorable conversation.

Those little exchanges were part of what made him uniquely Phil. He reminds us that life is made up of countless moments of connection, conversations, and shared experiences that become the memories we carry in our hearts.

Phil is survived by his brother, Basil Georges (Robin Gil),his sister, Cynthia Georges Sotiriou (Leo Sotiriou), his nephews Alexander Sotiriou, Michael Sotiriou (Angelique Pappas Sotiriou), and Stephen Sotiriou; and his niece, Elysia Stathopulos (Stefan Stathopulos) and their families.

There is something very meaningful about bringing Phil home to Milwaukee, the place where his story began. It is here that he will be laid to rest, returning to the hometown that holds so much of his family’s history and so many cherished memories.🤍

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm, Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

May his memory be eternal.
