Richard F Groseclose

Dick was the son of the late Walter Jackson Groseclose Sr. and Elizabeth Mary Groseclose (Kersey) of Beckley, West Virginia. He was born on April 1, 1934, in Bluefield, WV, and was raised in Beckley, WV, with his brother, Walter Jackson Jr. (Jack), who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kate; his five children; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

He served his country with honor in the United States Navy as a submariner, where he worked as a first-class electrician and technician. He was honorably discharged and later moved to Milwaukee, WI, where he worked and lived for over 35 years.

An engineer by profession, Dick was a lifelong problem solver whose curiosity never faded. He was a faithful, gentle, and kind man who lived with quiet strength and integrity. He loved learning and understanding how things worked, and he was a businessman and entrepreneur. He founded and operated GFG Corporation, a flexible packaging and metal-coating manufacturing company that sold equipment throughout the world. He traveled the globe for work, making sales, collecting adventure stories, memories, and friends along the way.

After retiring in 1997, he moved to Florida full time and continued to visit Wisconsin in the summers, where he cherished time with his wife, family, and friends.

He will be remembered as a godly man whose faith guided him throughout his life.

As we remember his remarkable life and character, let us carry his legacy forward by living each day with kindness and curiosity. His journey on earth may have concluded, but his influence remains. His stories continue to warm our hearts, make us smile, and inspire generations to come. In his honor, may we embrace life by building something new, improving something old, solving problems, and helping each other along the way. Dick Groseclose is loved, celebrated today and always.

The family will hold a private interment and celebration of life.
