March 14, 1927 – January 15, 2021
On January 15th, Adeline L Green (formerly Leonard), 93 years old, of Waban, Mass passed away peacefully. Adeline was born to Boris and Edith Leonard on March, 14, 1927 in New York City. She received her degree from the University of Massachusetts and worked as a microbiologist at the NE Deaconess Hospital for over 30 years. In 1950 she married Leon A. Green, who passed away in 1979. “Addie”, as she was affectionately known to many, was a very devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother and cherished friend to so many. Kindness, generosity, being a good-listener, being motherly to all and fiercely loyal were some of her attributes.
Adeline had a passion for her family, politics, dogs, summers in Cape Cod, swimming in the ocean, symphony and opera, Boston sports teams, her “second family” of co-workers at the Deaconess, bridge, mahjongg, reading and a life-long pursuit of knowledge. Adeline is survived by her daughter Carol and husband Garry Friedman of Bellaire, TX, her son Barry and his wife Carole of Montvale, NJ and her sister, June Goodman of Newton Highlands, MA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren Lee & Alex Friedman and Benjamin, Noah and Ally Green who loved her visits which were made particularly memorable by her mandel bread. The last few years of her life were spent with her extremely devoted and generous caregiver and friend Primrose Kintu. Due to COVID-19, there will be a private gravesite service. Donations in her memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
