Alan Paul Danovitch

Alan Paul Danovitch, age 84, of South Boston, MA, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025.

Devoted son of the late Dr. Lewis and Rebecca Danovitch, Alan was the beloved husband of Linda H. Danovitch for many cherished years. He is survived by his children, Leslie Nilsen and her husband Steven, and Alex Danovitch and his wife Lei. He took great pride in being the grandfather of Charlotte Nilsen, Victoria Nilsen, Ari Danovitch, and Eli Danovitch. Alan was predeceased by his brother, Dr. Stuart Danovitch.

Alan served as a Massachusetts State Representative for the 11th Norfolk District, representing Norwood, Walpole and Sharon from 1967 to 1976. During his time in office, he was known for advocating legislation focused on labor mediation and improved benefits for public-employee families.

Following his legislative service, Alan built a respected legal career in Boston, including a special focus on health care law, where he supported independent pharmacies. Outside of his professional life, Alan found great joy vacationing in the Caribbean with his beloved wife, Linda, especially scuba diving in the warm island waters.

A private graveside service was held on July 8th at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA.
