Alan I. Green, longtime resident of Watertown, MA, and recently of Newton, MA, died May 14, 2023 at age 89.
Born in Rochester, NY, to Ethel (Morris) and Joseph Green, Alan grew up in Boston’s West End and in Brookline. He attended Boston Latin School and MIT, graduating with an SB and SM in Electrical Engineering. After graduating, he joined the MIT Instrumentation Lab, which later became Draper Lab, in Cambridge, MA. During his life-long career there, he designed computers and software for guidance, navigation and control systems for NASA’s Project Apollo, the Space Shuttle and other space exploration projects.
Burial was private.
