Alan Dennis Leffler of Chestnut Hill, formerly of Lynnfield and Medford, died peacefully at home, at age 82, surrounded by his three children, on August 31, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of the late Susan (Yenkin) Leffler for 54 years, she was the light of his life. He was the caring brother of Stephen, and the loving father of Daniel Leffler (Nai Sonauta), Jessica Leffler (David Abel), and Joshua Leffler (Maggie Leffler).
He’s also survived by seven amazing grandchildren: Ryn, Vayla, Wolfy, Ozzie, Winston, Ottilie, and Bingham.
Alan was a deeply loving husband and caregiver, a fully present father, grandfather, and friend. He was generous and often remarked on how incredibly blessed he was, a sentiment shared by those who were close with him.
He loved spending time with his family in places near and far, whether it was watching his grandchildren play sports, hosting Shabbat dinner, or taking them on trips to places such as Thailand, Costa Rica, and Italy.
His memory will be a blessing and an inspiration.
Alan is laid to rest beside his beloved late wife, Susan, at the Or Emet Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's name can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation at www.michaeljfox.org/donate or to the charity of your choice.
