About 12 years ago, or so, I remember one evening when Sasha and I met up in San Francisco. We ended up in a late night diner having a slice of pizza, and on the TV I noticed that The Empire Strikes Back was playing. It was the "Luke I am Your Father" scene, so I started joking about it with Sasha.

Suddenly, I noticed he was very distracted. I asked him what he was looking at, and he told me that he had never seen Star Wars.

Sasha, I hope you got to see the Star Wars Trilogy. I miss you. All the times we met up on both coasts were always a blast.

I am deeply saddened and really still shocked to hear this news. Alex was a colleague and became a friend of mine over time. We had many deep and fascinating discussions on technology, art, and life. He had a remarkable intellect and a human decency which I miss already. There is a new hole in my heart. My sincere condolences to his family and other friends.
