Ann was born in Evanston, IL to the late Martin Frankel and Dena Kite Frankel. She attended Sullivan High School and University of Illinois. Artistic from an early age, she followed in the footsteps of her painter mother and her father, a master of all trades. Her artistic endeavors progressed from painting to hand-built and wheel thrown pottery and finally to porcelain jewelry and ornaments. She created a studio in the basement of her Wellesley home where she taught pottery classes. Her pottery and jewelry were sold at many East coast craft shows and area galleries. She shared her passion for art and clay with many and inspired them to pursue their crafts. She loved birding, gardening, traveling, good food and most of all, her family.
A memorial service will be held at Mudflat Pottery Studio, 81 Broadway, Somerville, MA on Sunday, June 30 at 4:00 PM with a celebration of her life to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Outreach Program at Mudflat Pottery Studio, www.mudflat.org
