
Anne (Koocher) Weinstein, a lifelong resident of Cambridge Massachusetts passed peacefully in her sleep on May 6, 2018. Anne lived an active and full life until age 99. She and Ben Weinstein shared 52 loving years before he passed. She was devoted to her family, son Richard and his wife Dana of Los Angeles, son Paul and his partner Laurie of Londonderry New Hampshire, and daughter Barbara Miller of Cambridge. Anne had three grandchildren with whom she shared a close and loving relationship, Eric and his wife Inga of Miami and Scott and his wife Sabrina of Boca Raton as well as Hannah of San Francisco. Anne was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Evan Miller. Anne was the daughter of Minnie and Morris Koocher and one of 6 children. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Gale. Anne’s other siblings Sarah Mendelson, Betty Clayman, David Koocher, and Miriam Newman passed before her.
Anne was happiest when with her family who brought her many years of joy. She was a talented hair stylist, manicurist, and vocational teacher and she thrived on learning new skills. She was an active volunteer at several hospitals including Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. In addition Anne was generous in spirit, always ready to lend a hand to someone in need and played an active role in the Jewish community in Cambridge.
Services will be held on May 9th at Sharon Memorial Park at 11:45 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. alzfdn.org
