Annette “Ann” (Silver) Fain, 84, of Weston on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Manchester, NH to the late Morris and Sadie (Zimmon) Silver. She was the beloved wife of the late Alan L. Fain. Devoted mother of Scott H. Fain and his wife Marla of Los Angeles, CA, Lauren P. Fain of Boston, and Susan B. Fain of Waltham. Dear sister of Bert Silver of Bedford, NH, and the late Bernice (Silver) Silberberg, and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Cushing Academy and The University of New Hampshire with a BA in English in 1950. After graduation, she landed a job in the early stages of television at WBZ-TV as Production Assistant for the Pauli Hewes show. Ann was married to Alan in 1956, and began her volunteer work for The Jewish Advocate, and the Friends Of BARC (Boston Association for Retarded Citizens), and was President of the Sisterhood at Temple Beth Avodah. After moving to Weston in 1968, she began her work career at the Weston Wayland Town Crier in Advertising Sales. During her career, she continued with her volunteer work, and became fiercely active in the community of Weston. Ann worked tirelessly for the Women’s Community League, on many of committees, and highly successful fundraising events including Service and Scholarship Committees, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Chairman of the WOW group, and most recently was on the board for the Town of Weston’s 300 Celebration, to name a few. Co-owner with her brother in the import and export company, Jenkins Spirits and Silver Realty in Londonderry, NH. She loved traveling, going to new restaurants, and being with her family and friends, and spending time at Woodland Golf Club, where she was an active member and served on the House Committee. Services at Temple Beth Avodah, 45 Puddingstone Lane, Newton on Friday June 28th, at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery, 180 Boston Post Rd. Bypass, Weston. The family will be sitting Shiva at the family home on Friday from 4-7, Saturday from 7-9, and Sunday beginning at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Women’s Community League Of Weston.
