Arthur Paul Wein, 85, of Boston, MA passed away with his wife, Susan, by his side on August 8, 2026. Arthur was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and was a trusted friend who was adored by all who knew him. He was considered to be a real mensch.
Arthur was born in Newburyport, MA on July 31, 1941, to Elliott and Lillian Wein. He was a graduate of Dartmouth College and Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He also proudly served as a Captain in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Myrtle Beach, SC.
He practiced dentistry for thirty-five years in Fitchburg, MA and was a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He was also a longtime Trustee of the Applewild School in Fitchburg, MA and Congregation Agudat Achim in Leominster, MA.
An avid sailor and skier, Arthur built and raced his own sailboat while in high school in Newburyport and, years later, spent countless winters with his family at their ski home in Quechee, VT.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Susan, his daughter, Amy Wein of New York City, son L. Joshua Wein of Raleigh, NC, daughter-in-law Sara and grandchildren, Sydney and Zachary, as well as his sister Nancy Kravetz of Phoenix, AZ and Sandra Baker of Claremont, CA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 12:00 PM, at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel at 1668 Beacon Street in Brookline. Burial to follow at Shara Tfilo Cemetery, West Roxbury. The family requests donations be made in Arthur’s memory to The Greater Boston Food Bank, 70 S Bay Ave, Boston, MA 02118.
