

Goldberg, Beatrice (Bea) passed away in Annapolis, MD, on August 29, 2014 at the age of 97. Born and raised in the Boston area, she lived in Belmont, MA from 1956 until 2007, when she moved to Annapolis. She worked as an office administrator for several businesses. In 1991, at the age of 75, after her husband became ill, she volunteered at the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts. Within a year the Association offered her a paid staff position to administer the Safe Return Program. She managed the program until the age of 90. She often said, “You have no idea of what can happen if you volunteer.” Her volunteer work included a term as President of the local chapter of B'nai B'rith Women, over 20 years at the Belmont Middle School Library and four years at the Belmont Council on Aging. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Yaku, and is survived by her daughter Sandy Comenetz and her husband Michael, her son Marc Goldberg and his wife Susan, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at the Roxbury Mutual Society Cemetery, Washington Street, Woburn, MA on September 4, 2014 at 10AM.
