LIPSON, Benjamin 81, of Chestnut Hill on Thursday, October 27, 2011 after a long illness. Beloved husband for 58 years of Ellie (Stein) Lipson. Loving father of Judy Lipson and the late Jane E. & Marjorie E. Lipson. Adored Papa of Janie & Amy Brauer. Dear brother of the late Estelle Lebow of NY.Mr. Lipson operated as an independent insurance consultant and as an independent insurance broker in the greater Boston area. He was an insurance advocate for privacy, senior healthcare and challenging health issues.Mr. Lipson's "Inside Insurance" column and Opinion pieces appeared in the Business section of The Boston Globe for more than 20 years. He was the author of "How to Collect More on Your Insurance Claims" and "JK Lassister"s Long Term Care Insurance." Services at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., BROOKLINE, on Sunday, October 30 at 12:00 noon. Burial in Sharon Memorial Park. Memorial observance at his late residence on Sunday following the interment through 9:00pm, Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm.
