Carole M. (Mendelson) Felz, age 85, died of COVID on Monday April 12, 2021. Predeceased by her loving husband Mark David Felz. Carole leaves behind three children: Kenneth Felz (Laura), Andrew Felz, and Shari Brass(Bob), eight grandchildren Aria(Ricardo), Devin, Teague, Jacob, Jared, Jamie, Jason and Max, and one great grandchild Ricardo Oliver.
Three things mattered most to Carole: family, Temple and dance. Carole was a founding member of Temple Beth El of Sudbury, MA.
In her early life she was a professional Modern dancer with Alvin Ailey and Consuela Atlas, taught dance for the Crittendon house for unwed mothers, and managed dance classes at the Joy of Movement Center in Cambridge. In her later years she has performed with the Golden Tones throughout MA.
She used her anthropology background (BA from Brandeis) and love of history to serve Gray Line historic tours as a director. She served at the USO at the Boston Coast guard base as entertainment manager and earned accolades from base commanders for her tireless work on behalf of our service men and women. Throughout the area she was known as “Happy Feet”, bringing joy to many through her years of dance. For every occasion she would brighten lives with her original poetry.
A private burial is planned for family with future celebration of life to honor her within her many communities.
In lieu of flowers please direct donations to Congregation Beth El, www.bethelsudbury.org, the Golden Tones, www.goldentones.org or the USO www.uso.org
