Donald Edward Cohen

Donald Edward Cohen, age 79, of Newton, formerly of Brookline, on Monday, March 18, 2013. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Don had a long and successful career in the insurance and investments field and was a lifelong member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He graduated Brookline High School in 1951; the University of Connecticut in 1955; and served in the U.S. Army in Germany for two years. Don leaves behind his daughter, Jennifer Katz & her partner Jaime Malzman of Newton; son-in-law, Nathaniel Katz of Newton; son Steven Cohen & his husband Bruce Withey of Jamaica Plain; son Michael Cohen of Natick; their mother, Ronnie Lee; brother and sister-in-law Richard & Lynn Cohen of Newton; brother and sister-in-law Alan & Merle Cohen of Southborough. Don was the loving Grandpa of Jessie, Sarah, Noah, and Hannah Katz of Newton and Jeremy, Aaron and Elizabeth Cohen of Jamaica Plain. Don is further survived by his devoted companion, Roberta Seligman, of Natick, her children and grandchildren as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Services at The Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline on Wednesday, March 20 at 2:00pm. Interment at Temple Emeth Memorial Park, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Following the interment, memorial observance at the Clubhouse, 77 Florence Street, Newton through 8:00pm and continuing Thursday 4-8pm and Friday 4-7pm at the home of Steven Cohen & Bruce Withey.
