

Edith Maltz Trombly Miller, 102, of Chestnut Hill, MA, passed away on April 7, 2026. Edith was predeceased by her late husbands, Sumner H. Trombly and Bernard Miller. She is survived by sons Kenneth M. Trombly (Nancy), Bethesda, MD, and Paul L. Trombly, DMD (Karen), Portsmouth, RI, as well as grandchildren Adam, Noah, Kimberly and Eric Trombly, and great-grandchildren Anderson, Eli, Ellery, Emma, Isaac and Nora Trombly.
A talented artist and accomplished wordsmith, Edith’s interests and passions took her from national leadership of Women’s American ORT - an organization operating educational schools and programs for Jewish communities worldwide - to work in TV production on Boston’s Major Mudd and Al Capp shows. Often called upon to indulge her creative side, Edie produced musicals for her condo building, wrote and illustrated their newsletter, taught needlepoint on the QE II, and created expert calligraphy for special events.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 10:00 A.M., at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline. Interment will follow at Mishkan Tefila Memorial Park, West Roxbury.
Shiva will follow the services at Edith’s home.
