The beloved Edward “Eddie” Andelman, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Eddie was the beloved husband of "The Fabulous" Judi for 57 years and the devoted father of Dave Andelman, Michael and his wife Claudia, and Dan Andelman. He was the loving grandfather of Max, Zach, Brooke, Lily, Rachel, Sydney, and Molly, and the dear brother of the late Neal and Judy Andelman.
Eddie was cherished by his wife, admired and loved deeply by his sons, and adored by his grandchildren. From humble beginnings in Dorchester, he achieved remarkable success in business and broadcasting. Many called him the godfather of sports radio, and he truly changed and elevated the way sports radio was experienced.
Eddie worked tirelessly on the Hot Dog Safari for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a cause close to his heart. He loved bringing people together for a great time and was grateful that his own family was healthy. His generosity and commitment touched countless lives.
There would be no Phantom Gourmet without Eddie Andelman. His passion, pride, and dedication to his work along with his down-to-earth, sometimes irreverent style made him one of a kind. His deep respect for small business owners and hardworking people enriched the lives of his family, friends, and many others. He helped thousands and entertained millions.
Eddie Andelman lived a truly extraordinary life. His legacy will live on through the people he loved, the people he inspired, and the many lives he touched.
