Dear Dr. Smookler, 

     We are so saddened and a little shocked to hear of your dad's passing. Although we have known you for a short time, your devotion for, and love of,  your dad was quite evident. I am sure that he was very proud of you and that your care of your dad extended his life. It is very difficult to lose a parent.
