

Edythe Goldstein of Hingham, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, August 13th, at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of the late Sherwood Goldstein and a wonderful mom to three sons and daughters-in-law: David and Susan, Michael and Pru, and Steven and Kath. She was a doting grandmother of nine: Zippora, Miriam, Elisheva, Gila, Hadassah, Avraham, Chezky, Nash, and Daphne.
Edye was the sister of the late Merill (survived by Marion) Greenberg and their children, Morton, Sabrina, and Ely; the late Mark Greenberg (survived by his life partner, Judy Joseph); the late Leona (the late Tom) Liberty and their children, Tom, Chris, Donna, Jim, and Lee; Arnold Greenberg and his children, Aaron, Rachael, and Ethan, along with Arnold’s life partner, Nina Durr; and the sister-in-law of Florence and the late Jerry Rattner, and their daughters, Laurie, Ellen, and the late Susan.
Edye was born on March 28, 1943, in Troy, New York, to the late Sam and Florence Fuchs Greenberg, original owners of the Troy Plate Glass Company. She attended Russell Sage College, met Sherwood while teaching Sunday School, and later completed her bachelor’s degree at Albright College. Edye and Sherwood raised their three sons in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, where she worked as a real estate agent. Later, she and Sherwood moved to Hingham, Massachusetts, to be closer to family. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge and poker, and chatting with friends and strangers alike.

A Graveside service will be held at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Road, Wayland, on Sunday, August 16th, at 11:00 AM. Shiva to take place following service.
