Elaine Gedanken

Elaine (Zash) Gedanken z''l, beloved wife, mother, bubbie and savta, died on the night of Sunday, April 19, 2020 at age 92 from complications from COVID-19. Elaine was predeceased by her husband Irving, her parents Jacob and Dora Zash, and her siblings Nathan (Bess), Rose (Irving Colton), Anna (Bernard Friedman), Michael (Sara) and Benjamin (Betty). She is survived by her children, Lynne, Wendy (Joaquim Branco) and Jay (Mara), her grandchildren Max Levine (Kate Smith), Tali Branco (Sequoia McDowell), Mia Branco, Mason Gedanken and Chad Gedanken and great-grandchildren Leah Zalea, Jack, Solen, Tess, Yonina and Halcyon.

Elaine was a kind and generous person who loved to cook and liked a good joke. She was a gifted teacher and an exceptional listener. She will be hugely missed.
