I am so blessed to have known Elaine. Over the years, we enjoyed weekly walks, theater, concerts, museums, dining at both storefront and high end venues and at each other’s home.  It’s the conversations I’ll treasure. Elaine brought an honest, intelligent perspective to varied topics, issues and concerns. I 
am also blessed to have witnessed her great example in all the roles she played… as beloved wife to Monroe… as devoted  Mother to Lauren and Rachel and their spouses, Richard and Chris… as cherished Grandmother to Sam, Margo, Mya, Lily, Peter. It means so much to me that, along with Monroe, they were attentive, and generous, grandparents” to our two children. 
Elaine was bold, both strong and gentle, wise, caring, refreshingly frank and direct, compassionate, confident, steady, generous, pragmatic, authentic, loving, reliable, both worldly and down to earth, fully present for each and every moment and always moving forward with whatever life presented. And wow, could she sing! Last year’s family holiday photo is on my fridge, where it will remain. I have lost a dear friend. Lauren, Rachel, and your beautiful family, I am holding each of you close in my heart, adding my strength to yours

I want to extend my family's deepest condolence to Lauren and Rachel. My father and Monroe were law school classmates, graduating in 1951, and my parents and Monroe remained great friends and were so pleased when Monroe married Elaine. They remained close friends all through the years as our families grew, often visiting one another in Newton and in the Bronx and Teaneck, NJ where my family moved in the mid-Sixties. We vacationed together on Martha's Vineyard, and my parents, Jerome and Lorraine, traveled quite often with Monroe and Elaine. I considered Monroe and Elaine to by my "uncle" and "aunt", and when I enrolled at Tufts in 1974 I was often a guest at their home for the Jewish holidays, enjoying meals and great conversation with the Monroe, Elaine, Lauren and Rachel. 

There are so many great memories of our times together. My mother, who is 93 cherishes all the wonderful times spent with the Inkers and she extends her heartfelt condolences to Lauren and Rachel. 

I will always cherish the time spent with the Inkers. May Elaine rest in eternal peace and comfort.

I miss my Aunt Elaine more than I expected. We haven’t seen much of one another in recent years because of the 3,000 mile separation.  But her impact on me from my childhood was lasting. I have such wonderful memories of this sensitive and thoughtful person who made me feel loved and appreciated as an awkward teen. Her smile lit up a room. Her mischievous twinkle said "Yes, I see this silliness the same way as you, but let’s have that be our secret," without saying a word. She could communicate paragraphs with a wry smile, a faux frown, or one of many other uniquely "Elaine" expressions. I will miss all of that. I love and miss you Aunt Elaine. 

I have very fond memories of Elaine when she was my social work supervisor at Harvard Health Plan in the late 1980’s. I had returned to the field after a few years hiatus and Elaine helped me regain my sea legs with encouragement and confidence building. I still recall how witty and smart she was, the extensive clinical knowledge she drew from to assist my efforts with clients. She was truly one of a kind so it is no surprise how missed she will be .

Dear Lauren and Rachel,

Your mother  was my supervisor in the social work department at Mount Auburn Hospital for a couple of years in the mid 1970's when I was a young social worker. She was smart, kind, and fun.  I remember the gatherings she had for us at your home where we got to meet your father and the two of you.  I last ran into her and your father in the mid 1980's at a restaurant in Brookline.  I am very sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear that Elaine passed away.  We went to many concerts, movies, and restaurants together and I will miss her companionship and wisdom on the many topics we discussed over the course of a long friendship.   Our late husbands knew each other from a New York City high school they attended, and we were fortunate to get to know each other through them  and through Elaine's work as a social worker. 

Dear Lauren , Margo, Sam, Richard & Rachel,
We have many fond memories of sharing a multitude of holidays with Elaine. 
Whatever the circumstance she always wanted to be in charge ~ such a vibrant lady. 
I admired her desire to engage in so many activities. 
She’s a role model I’ll always keep in mind as aging happens.

Elaine was a friend of all of us at Newtonville Camera for over 40 years.She and Monroe were great people.We enjoyed talking with
her and helping her with her video projects.

I ONLY KNEW ELAINE FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS AS A NEW MEMBER OF NEWTON SINGERS.  SHE IMPRESSED ME AS A KIND, VIBRANT PERSON WHO WAS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR GROUP.  BRAVELY, SHE SAT IN THE FRONT PEW DURING OUR REHEARSALS,   WE WILL SURELY MISS HER, AS WELL AS HER STRONG SINGING VOICE!

Dear Lauren and Rachel and family,
I enjoyed taking Elaine and my mother to classical music concerts over the past few years. She was a lovely lady, concerned and gracious and full of good cheer. I'm glad we had a chance to share lunch with her only a few months ago. My sincere condolences.

My heart is with Elaine and the entire Inker family during this time. I was Elaine’s personal trainer for over seven years. She was the most positive sweet loving woman I’ve ever met.  Elaine and I, our conversations usually consisted of restaurants, movies, and her dog while working out of course. My favorite memory of Elaine was my second year as a trainer, Elaine was recovering from a knee replacement. I told her I want you to warm up on the recumbent bike for ten minutes before every session to keep those knees moving. One winter day, we must of had 4-6ft of snow. I had seven clients that day including Elaine. By the time I got to work I had six cancelations, the only one willing to drive through the snow for a workout was Elaine. Inker family I’m truly so sorry for your loss. Elaine thank you for all the memories, I will cherish them forever!
