Elaine's career included managerial positions in insurance, marketing, and human resources. While in Virginia, she was active in the civil rights movement, marching in protests in support of de-segregation. Upon moving to Springfield OH, she immediately became involved in the farm worker's cause for better pay and conditions for migrant workers, as well as campaigning for Democratic candidates. Her greatest passions were for the rights of women, including Planned Parenthood and Project Woman. After her retirement, she and Jack moved to Cape Cod, which had been a goal since the beginning of their marriage. They became members of the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement (HILR), both teaching and taking courses. Judaism was always a presence in her life and together with Jack, they were two of the founding members of Ansei Chesed, the first conservative synagogue on Cape Cod. Elaine was a loving mother and an incredible grandmother. She was an incredibly strong woman and lived her life with dignity and decency.
Funeral Services were held at Levine Chapels and Burial at Crawford Street Memorial Park.
