Eleanore Levy, 96, a devoted mother and sister, passed away on October 23, 2025 in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was born on August 24, 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Edith and Elias Berman, and was one of 3 siblings.
An avid reader and traveler, Eleanore had a strong interest in history, world affairs and culture. In the early 1970s, Eleanore passed the US Foreign Service examination, and worked for the US State Department Foreign Service in overseas posts, including Paris, Suriname, Barbados, South Korea, and Ethiopia. After leaving the State Department, she turned a long-term avocation and a talent for writing verse into a new career path, writing greeting card verse full time for American Greetings and Hallmark.
She was predeceased by her sister, Selma Schneider of Swampscott, MA, by her brother, Richard Berman of Lynn, MA, and by her former husband, Albert Levy.
She leaves her daughter, Marsha Levy, of Boynton Beach.
A graveside service will be held at Agudath Israel Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA on November 4th at 11:00 AM.
