Elliot was born and raised in the Boston area. He was a proud graduate of Harvard Class of 1938 & BC Law School. Law school was interrupted by his service in World War II as a Marine Corps. Officer. His love of the law and his pride in his law practice lasted a lifetime.
He built his life around his wife, the late Lenny Rosenberg, in Newton where they raised their three children, Joan Rosenberg Ryan, Paul Rosenberg, and Andrew Rosenberg.
They spent summers on Cape Cod, building an extended family out of the wonderful friends they had there, eventually building a home on the water in Mashpee. Elliot enjoyed hosting family and friends, sailing and boating, and teaching his grandchildren to swim and dig for clams with their feet. Elliot is survived by his beloved brother, Edward E. Rosenberg of Cape Cod, and was an incredible grandfather to Abby Ryan, Ben Rosenberg, Jake Rosenberg, Natalya Rosenberg, and Erin Forristall and a loving uncle to countless nieces, nephews and their children.
Stubborn, caring and a force of nature are some of the best ways to describe Elliot; many who met him will never forget his easy smile, husky laugh and wonderful sense of humor.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline on Wednesday, September 14 at 10:00am.
Burial will be private.
