Estelle "Stell" Schwedock, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the age of 93.
Born on May 4, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, Estelle was the daughter of Louis and Hattie Lermseider. She was raised in Brooklyn, where she met and married the love of her life, Herbert Schwedock, in 1956. Together they built a life filled with love and family, sharing 60 wonderful years of marriage.
Estelle was predeceased by her husband, Herbert; her beloved son, Eric M. Schwedock; and her sister, Rita Volk. She is survived by her daughter, Julie S. Schwedock, and son-in-law, Brian T. White; her cherished grandsons, William L. White and Jason S. White; her nieces, Eileen Abad (née Volk), Teri Goldman (née Volk), Terri Canziani (née Weiner), and Marcy Hill (née Weiner); her great-nieces, Rebecca, Jasmine, and Samantha Canziani, and Kristin Abad; and many beloved cousins on both sides of her family, with whom she remained close throughout her life.
Estelle had a lifelong appreciation for the arts. She loved visiting art museums, studying art history, attending the opera, and expressing her creativity through needlework and weaving. She delighted in traveling and enjoyed collecting art and jewelry. Nothing, however, brought her greater joy than family. She adored babies, treasured time with her grandchildren, and looked forward to every opportunity to gather with those she loved.
Estelle was the co-owner and business partner of Vanguard Crafts and Vanguard Needlecraft.
Following retirement, Estelle and Herbert divided their time between Arizona and the Berkshires before moving to Arlington, Massachusetts. In 2010, they made their home at NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts, where Estelle formed many lasting friendships and was known for spinning a good yarn.
The family will receive visitors at the home of Julie Schwedock and Brian White on Friday, July 3, following the funeral service.
