

Esther L. (Rottenberg)Kampler, age 95, of Brookline, a Holocaust survivor passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022.
Esther is the late wife of 67 years to David Kampler. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Larry Rotenberg, her children, Steven and his wife Stephanie of Connecticut, Debra and her husband Gerry Bickoff of Newton, and Jerry and his wife Holly of Newton; 6 grandchildren, Benjamin (Jeff), Zachary (Christina), Alyssa (Dan), Jacob (Danielle), Sam, and Max; and 3 great grandchildren, Jordan, Teddy, and Charlie.
She was born in Buchavina, Romania, and was one of five children born to Pepi Rottenberg and Herman Drimmer. During the war she was interned in a ghetto and eventually immigrated to America where she was taken in by her foster family, Blanche and Morris Snyder and their son Robert (Terry).
At a friend’s wedding in Boston, she met and married the love of her life, David and together they built their family. Esther taught emersion courses to children in the Brookline Elementary Schools for many years.
Services and Burial will take place in the Shara Tfilo Cemetery, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury, Sunday November 27, 2022 at 12pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Holocaust Museum in Washington DC or to Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.
