AUERBACH, Etta (Goldstein), of Chestnut Hill, was entered into rest on September 18, 2018 at the age of 96. Etta was born in the Transylvanian Alps of Romania and was caught up in the Holocaust with her family. She survived Auschwitz with two of her sisters, Hannah and Sara, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1949. Her strength to survive and raise a family carried her to the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Joseph “Jack” Auerbach. Devoted mother of Sally Cohen and Richard Robbins of Waban, Herb Auerbach and Lisa Flaherty of Jenkintown, PA, and Steven Auerbach of Brighton. Cherished grandmother of Jacob Cohen and Rose Chaffee-Cohen, Nathan and Rachel Cohen, Katie Auerbach and Derrick Goodwin, and Gregory Auerbach. Adored great-grandmother of Leo Cohen. Loving sister of Sara and Harvey Lewin of Chestnut Hill, and the late Rochel Fogel, Hannah Krimsky, Mollie Goldstein and Hersh-Edel Goldstein. Dear daughter of the late Herman and Chaia (Ingbar) Goldstein. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2:45 PM at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon.
