Faye A. (Davis) Boorin
Faye Boorin, age 91, formerly of Buffalo and Tonawanda, NY passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Born and raised in Buffalo, she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Sadie (Elster) Davis and dear sister of the late Beverly (Davis) Borwick.
Faye completed her nurse training in 1951 and later earned a BS in public health nursing from the University of Buffalo in 1955. During her nursing career, she worked in public health, public schools and geriatrics.
Faye lived her life with the same values she brought to her nursing career: empathy, kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness. She possessed great determination and strength in overcoming many challenges throughout her life. Faye’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother, and she was a friend to all who knew her.
Faye was the beloved wife of the late Monty Boorin. Devoted mother of Martin Boorin (Angela Boorin), Robert Boorin (Janet Boorin) and Karen Kinsella (Stephen Kinsella). Loving grandmother of Kaitlyn and Zachary Boorin, David and Christina Boorin and Caroline, Alexander and Joshua Kinsella.
Due to the current health crisis, funeral services were private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Faye’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org or in memory of her mother and late husband to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, a cause she felt deeply about.
