Frederick Bloom, age 95, of Walpole, formerly of Foxboro and Westwood, on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. For 56 years, the beloved husband of Edith (Wax) Bloom. Loving father of David W. Bloom of New York, NY, Jeff A. Bloom of Toronto, Canada and Linda B. Ambrose of Annapolis, MD. Cherished grandfather of Joshua Dillon Bloom. Dear brother of the late Herbert W. and Myron L. Bloom.
A graduate of Brown University, Class of ‘40, Fred was a very active volunteer at Brown for many years and was an Alumni Trustee. He served in the US Army as a cryptographer based in the Aleutian Islands during WWII. For over 40 years, Fred ran Two Ten Footwear Foundation which at the time was the largest, industry specific, social services philanthropy in the world.
Services at Temple Beth David, 7 Clapboardtree Street, Westwood on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 11:30am. Burial at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Memorial observance will be Sunday and Monday evenings, 7-9 pm at New Pond Village, 170 Main Street, Walpole, MA - 2nd floor.
