Harriet (Schafer)(Cohen) Jacobs, , age 88 years, of Newton on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Joseph & Rae (Hoffman) Schafer. Beloved wife of the late Herman “Hy” Jacobs and the late Robert Cohen. Devoted mother of Philip (Nancy) Cohen, Ronni (Amos) Eisenberg, Lynne (Alan) Friedman, Flora (Brad) Valentine and Ronna (Steven) Aronson. Cherished grandmother of Rob (Amy), Matt (Frances), Lee, Shari, Jonathan, Corey, Staci (Vijay), Michael, Jennifer, Scott (Sasha) and the late Rachael, and great grandmother of eight. Sister of Burt (Dottie) Schafer and Louise (and the late Larry) Haiman. Beloved aunt, cousin, and good friend to many. Services at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Thursday, June 26 at 12:00 noon. Burial in Sharon Memorial Park, 41 Dedham St., Sharon. Memorial observance at her late residence immediately following interment through 5pm & 7-9pm, Friday 2-6pm and continuing at the home of Ronni & Amos Eisenberg on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm and Monday 7-9.
