Harvey Sager, age 90, of Boston, formerly of Winthrop, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 6, 2018. He was the son of the late Rose (Mones) and David Sager. He attended Georgia Tech for two years before enlisting in the United States Navy where he served as Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Air Force during the Korean War. After the war, he earned a Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s degree in Business at Boston University.
He was much loved by his children, Susan Sager, Steven Sager, and Matthew Sager, and remained lifelong friends with their mother, Carol (Shufro) Sager. He was grandfather of Benjamin Zuckernik, Samuel Zuckernik, Emily Sager, Arielle Sager, Jonathan Sager and Rebekah Sager, and brother of Marshall and Joel Sager. For the last 35 years he was the loving companion of Ruth Roblin.
A memorial service will be held at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Sunday, December 9 at 2pm.
Memorial observance will be at Matthew’s home on Sunday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, continuing on Monday, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
