
Harvey Andrew Vine aka Scott Vine, 84, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026.
Harvey Andrew Vine was born in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, England on March 9, 1942, to Rachel (Bird) and Hyman Vine. His family emigrated to Canada and then to the United States, where they settled in the Boston area.
Harvey was given the nickname "Scott" by his American friends, and has been known as Scott for many years. He graduated from Boston's English High School and attended Northeastern University for one year. After taking a computer programming course, he had a long career working in several Boston companies, helping to create their data processing systems. He was always willing to help friends and relatives with any computer problems.
Scott pursued several interests, including martial arts, where he obtained a black belt in Kenpo Karate at age 50. After retirement, he found a computer program which he used to create music of many kinds, and gave cd's with his pieces to friends and family. He was also a contract bridge player, and was part of a team which competed in tournaments for many years.
He was married to Dorothy (Goldberg) for more than 54 years. They had no children, but were the owners of many dogs over the years. Scott loved the dogs and was an excellent trainer.
A graveside services will be held at Anshe Dowig Cemetery, 2667 Centre Street, West Roxbury on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00 am.
