Harvey Wilk was, and will forever be remembered as, a legendary husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He defined “cool” with his larger-than-life style and flair, and, simply put, people just liked him.
Harvey passed away early on June 13, 2026, leaving behind the love of his life, his wife of over 30 years, Elyse, as well as his children Corey and Jared, his daughters-in-law Kate and Abby, five adoring grandchildren, Sawyer, Myles, Cole, Grayson and Pearl, and his sister Sheila Dworkis.
Born and raised in Rhode Island by the late Esther and Sam Wilk, Harvey moved to Boston to attend Boston University and then lived in Newton and Weston before “retiring” to Florida. While at B.U. he began a brilliant real estate career forming Wilk & Welch Associates, which began as a rental office finding “Places For People,” and blossomed into Wilk Properties and more than 50 years of successful real estate development. Harvey was instrumental in opening the North End restaurant Tresca, which he ran for almost a decade. In the 1990’s, Harvey served as a youth soccer coach and President of the local chapter for the American Cancer Society, in which he also planted the philanthropic and coaching seeds that would later flourish in the lives of his sons.
Harvey was a true “rockstar” who had a passion for rock n’ roll music, bold fashion, small dogs, sports cars and traveling the world. He had a deep appreciation for the United States of America and those who served our country, as well as tremendous pride in the State of Israel and its importance to the past, present and future of the Jewish people. He loved his dog Khaleesi and his red Corvette! While many people will remember Harvey for his amazing hair, to his family he will always lovingly be remembered as “Da,” an icon unlike any other.
A Funeral Service for all those who wish to celebrate and remember Harvey’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Beth Shalom, 670 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA. A graveside interment for family and close friends will follow at Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Road, Warwick, RI at 2:00 p.m. Shiva will be at Abby and Jared's home on Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 18th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and Friday, June 19th from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Harvey’s memory may make a donation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, T2T.org, a charitable organization which provides mortgage-free homes to military veterans and fallen first responders and which was founded in the wake of September 11, 2001.
