

Howard A. Winer, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and South Orleans, MA passed away on January 5th, 6 days short of his 85th birthday. Born in Lynn, MA, he grew up in Swampscott, MA and was the eldest son of Carl & Ruth (Jaffe) Winer. He graduated from Swampscott High School and Bentley University. His brothers Ronald and Mark predeceased him. He leaves his beloved wife Judy (Hamberg) Rubin, daughter Lauren (Winer) Marrus, son-in-law Michael, a son Eric Winer and daughter-in-law Heather as well as two step-daughters, Alana (Rubin) Kitchen and Marielle (Rubin) Silber. He was incredibly proud of his five grandchildren: Samantha and Jacob Marrus, Poppy and Maisy Kitchen and Lev Silber.
Howard had a CPA practice for over 50 years, initially in the Boston area and then in Harwichport, MA when he moved to Cape Cod. He also owned and operated rest homes in New England as well as Savoy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in New Bedford, MA.
Howard was an avid golfer and a member of Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Cape Cod National in Brewster, MA. For over 40 years he was a member of the “Forty Thieves” at Dennis Pines/Dennis Highlands on the Cape. Additionally, he enjoyed boating and catching stripers off of Chatham Light.
His beautiful smile and blue eyes will be severely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Interment was at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon, MA.
