Ina Edith Cohen Shatz, of Natick Massachusetts, passed away Peacefully on May 20, 2025. She is the daughter of Ester Cohen and Israel Cohen. She was born in Revere, Massachusetts, at 86 Highland Avenue on March 30, 1937. It was a home that was very dear to her. She loved her brother, the late Morton Cohen, and sister, the late Rosalyn Rotman. She was married to Judge Chester Shatz for 24 years. She was the devoted mother of Julianne Beth Goodman Rose and Evan Scott Goodman, and the proud grandmother of Shayna Anne Rose and Alexander Julien Rose.
Ina’s life was a powerful example of tenacity, love, and unwavering strength. She was a woman of incredible determination, facing life’s challenges with grace and courage, never hesitating to fight for the people she loved. Her commitment to her children and grandchildren was absolute, her family was her greatest joy and love of her life.
She was a very hard worker and excelled at every job she had from container sales at Eagle Leasing to retail sales at Bed and Bath and often got commendations for her exceptional work. She loved sales and she loved her retirement and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved crocheting her squares, watching her soap operas, cooking, gardening, her home and shopping. She really loved her butterscotch and coffee candies and a big glass of cold milk with some vanilla ice cream.
Ina’s presence was a steady force in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She showed her love through action, through honesty, and through an unshakable devotion that never wavered. We were blessed to have a mother that was also our best friend and she will be missed every day.
