

Israel H. Polansky of Newton, MA, passed the 27th of December 2012. He was 102 years old, born August 10, 1910 in Boston, MA. A successful manufacturer and President of the Atlantic Paper Box Co., a pioneer and leading international producer of Valentine heart shaped candy boxes, he retired at the age of 87. As family patriarch he was beloved and respected by all for his love and fierce sense of family values which he instilled in all of his family. The last of his generation, a dedicated runner of many years, who displayed a loyalty, a strength of character and who inspired all around him to be the best they could be. Devoted husband for 72 years of the late Gladys (Manaster). Survived by his loving family: Two sons; Arthur of Needham, Robert and his wife Ann of Manhattan; NY grandchildren, Mark of Manhattan, Barbra and her husband Steve of Marin County, CA, Jerome and his wife Flor of Manhattan and two great granddaughters, Mia and Avalom. His beloved sister Marion, brother-in-law to Julia and Louis Cole (deceased) and Paul and Joan Ephross. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Services at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Sunday, January 6 at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Remembrances may be donated to the charity of one’s choice.
