With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our beloved father, James A. Woldman, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 8, 2025 at the age of 79. He was a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering love for his family and all who knew him.
Born in Montclair, New Jersey on October 28, 1945, James spent his life dedicated to his family and his passion for Lionel trains. He was a man of great character, known for his infectious laugh, his kind heart, and his remarkable ability to tell a story that could captivate a room.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Susan Woldman Ras and Rachel Lynne Gavin, his devoted son-in-law, Michael Gavin, and his five adoring grandchildren, Lily Ras, Milo Ras, Molli Walsh, Owen Gavin and Wyatt Gavin. Jim was the ultimate grandfather, always ready with a joke, a warm hug, and a lesson about trains. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, whether it was playing games or vacationing.
Jim will be deeply missed but his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on through his family. We find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00am at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA. Burial will follow at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Road, Wayland, MA.
