

She was born in Boston, and resided for many years in Brookline, and then in Quincy. She was a graduate of Radcliffe College, and also held degrees from Columbia and Boston University. Before her retirement, Janet was a social worker with the Veterans Administration.
She was the beloved wife of the late William M. Hoffman, DMD; devoted mother of Donald & Valeria Hoffman, Fredda Cole & James Fitch, and Marjorie Serrano; grandmother of Miguel and Marisa Serrano, Daniel Serrano, Tony and Jessica Hoffman, Maria and Idn Arrington, Joseph Hoffman & Arika Peck. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren. Janet was predeceased by her sister, Estelle Katz, and her brother, Paul Katz.
Graveside services will be held at Lindwood Memorial Park, 490 North Street, Randolph on Sunday, November 27, at 11am.
Memorial observance will follow at the home of Marjorie Serrano through 5pm.
