Josephine “Joie” Feinberg, 83, of Natick, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, after bravely battling glioblastoma for three years. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Boston, Joie was a proud graduate of Brookline High School and went on to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Boston University. She dedicated her professional life to helping others as a speech pathologist in the Newton Public Schools, where she worked with generations of students. Known for her patience, warmth, and encouragement, she made a lasting difference in the lives of the children and families she served.
Joie treasured time with her friends and family and found joy in the everyday moments of life. She loved cooking her favorite recipes, playing lively games of mahjong and canasta with friends, knitting thoughtful gifts for those she loved, and reading the newspaper each day. Above all, she cherished her role as a grandmother and was lovingly known as Nana Joie. Her grandchildren brought her endless pride and happiness, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.
She was predeceased by her brother, Jay. Joie is survived by her loving children: Jonathan Feinberg and his wife, Aiste; Jennifer and her husband, Evan; and Jessica. She is also survived by her sisters, Jaci and Jeri; her cherished grandchildren, Jordyn, Jillian, Jayden, Alexis, Tessa, and Jaxson; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Joie will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her warmth and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A service will be held at Temple Beth Shalom in Needham, MA at 10am on Monday, March 16, 2026. Shiva to follow.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in her memory to the Glioblastoma Foundation.
