Judith, founder and executive director of Northnode, Inc., was a dedicated and compassionate advocate for social justice whose work included domestic violence advocacy; public systems support; and elder, legal, and alcoholism services. Judith took every opportunity to share her devotion to making the world a better and safer place, her passion for the birds and her garden, her fondness for the Boston Red Sox, and her deep love of her grandchildren. In her professional and personal lives, which often overlapped, her kindness, enthusiasm, humor, and persistence was irresistible and engaging.
She will be deeply missed by her spouse Helen Horigan, daughter Jesse Decker (Dave Holbrook), mother Rose Lennett, sisters Barbara Smith, Ellen Antoniadou, and Stacey D’Elia, grandchildren Quinn and Reese Holbrook, and countless extended family and friends. Judith’s father, Jerry Lennett, died six days before her on December 26.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Judith on January 31 (10am-12pm) at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Institute for Health and Recovery, Massachusetts Audubon Society, Cambridge Insight Meditation Center, or any Massachusetts domestic violence agency.
