I was sorry to learn of June Namias' passing.  I just finished reading her magnificent research and compilation of "Six Weeks in the Sioux Tepees', describing the captivity of Sarah Wakefield in Minnesota in 1862.  June's research and documentation was absolutely extraordinary!  I wanted to congratulate her, but, sadly, I am too late.

Oh my goodness, I was just thinking about  what has happened to June Namias.  I knew her as a student & friend at the University of Michigan in 1960-62. Sshe lived at the Friend's Center Coop ~ along with Milly Williams; my spouse since 1965; who passed away in January of this year.

We communicated a few times over the years ~ but now I'm too late to wish her well, in retirement.   My condolences to her son and the extended family.

I just saw that June had died. So sorry to hear this. I remember June from the early days of the women’s movement in Boston/Cambridge. She was a dedicated feminist & passionate scholar especially about the indigenous people of Alaska. We lost touch in the last years. 
My deep sympathies to June’s son, of whom she was so proud, & other family members.
