72, of Needham, MA. Entered eternal rest on April 7, at the Tippett Home in Needham. Karen was the beloved and devoted wife of Aaron J. Goldberg. Daughter of the late Edward and Selma (Wittenberg) Davidson. Loving mother of Jennifer (Gordon) and her husband Brian Shepherd (Shrewsbury, MA), and Deborah Gordon (Groton, MA). Adoring "Grammy" of Nicholas, Marianna, and Sophie Silverio (all of Shrewsbury, MA). Loving step-mother to Laura Goldberg and Deborah Goldberg. Step-grandmother to Ben and Max Shepherd. Dear sister of Steven Davidson (Methuen, MA). Karen was a proud graduate of the Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing (1964). She started her career at Boston Children's Hospital and for many years so loved caring for newborn babies as a Registered Nurse. After retiring from nursing, Karen found joy in many other professions but they always seemed to include helping people. Whether it was in the medical field or in the retail world, Karen received gratification just by being helpful to others. Of all the things she was, however, being a grandmother was her true passion. She took so much joy spending time with her three grandchildren and no matter what they were doing it was always an adventure. Our family would like to express our deep appreciation and sincere thanks to Karen's incredible friends who were with her from the beginning and showed so much love during her illness. In addition, we thank the wonderful staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Good Shepherd Community Care Hospice and our Visiting Angels for caring for Karen when we could not be by her side. And lastly, thank you to the staff at Tippett Home Hospice. Services will be at the Sharon Memorial Chapel, 40 Dedham St., Sharon, MA at 10 am on Sunday April 10. Interment to follow. Visitation at Karen's home Sunday, until 9 pm, & Monday & Tuesday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Remembrances in Karen's memory may be made to Temple Beth Shalom, 670 Highland Ave., Needham, MA, 02494, or the American Cancer Society.
