Leonard (“Lenny”) Garber of Uxbridge, MA, passed away on July 5, 2024. He is predeceased by his father (Israel E. Garber, M.D.) and mother (Esther A. Garber). He leaves behind his beloved life partner Nona Hurd, sons Seth Israel and Jeremy (Maris), grandchildren Hunter and Hannah, brother William H. (“Bill”) Garber, DDS (Luann), his nieces Amy and Rachel (Jeff) Miller, and great-nephew Moses. He also had an extended family and a network of friends.
Lenny grew up in Newton, MA, and held various positions through his career. The first most notable he recalls was as a caddy and then he moved on to building swimming pools, selling cars and clothes, becoming a special police officer with the MSPCA, and working security, along with others. He traveled across the country and loved vintage cars. He treasured the outdoors and nature and had a passion for fishing and the ocean. He enjoyed watching westerns, old movies, golf, and college football. He had very fond memories of the 1960s and could get lost listening to music from 1950s–1970s. Lenny had a wonderful smile and laugh. He will be missed and is loved by many.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in the Agudath Israel Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA at 10AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to an organization of donor’s choice.
