Linda Bickelman, formerly of Newton Centre and, more recently, Albuquerque, New Mexico, died on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Beloved sister of Harriet Joseph and her late husband Donald Joseph, of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, and Carol Bickelman and her partner Sharon Huerta of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Devoted aunt of Rachel Joseph of Washington, DC, and her son, Aden Alvarez Joseph; and Seth Joseph and his fiancée, Bonnie Miano.
Linda was a modern dancer when she was younger and attended the Juilliard School of Music in New York City. She went on to earn a degree in Education from Rhode Island College. Her career, which spanned 35 years, was in high-tech computer sales, a profession that enabled her to travel the world.
At retirement, Linda settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she became a docent at the Albuquerque Zoo. She knew the names of every animal and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with every person who visited the zoo. She also fostered kittens in her home until they were old enough to be adopted. She lived a very full and enjoyable life.
A funeral service will be held at Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, on Thursday, September 24, at 11:00 am, followed by interment at the Shara Tfilo Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Remembrances may be made to any hospice organization of your choice.
