Dr. Louis Y., Bardfield, age 89 years, of Anguilla, formerly of Randolph passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
For 62 years, he was the beloved husband of Judith “Judy” (Ewen) Bardfield. Loving father of Alan Bardfield & his wife Elizabeth (Gannon). Adored grandfather of Erika Desrosiers and Stephen Bardfield, and great grandfather of Skylynn and Lennon Desrosiers. Dear brother of Adele Cooper and the late Morton Bardfield. Brother-in-law of Claire Bardfield and the late Irving Cooper and beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Mass. College of Optometry, he became a pioneer in the field of contact lenses. His commitment to his profession brought him to the island of Anguilla, where at the time there was no resident Optometrist. His continued desire to improve the vision of the residents of Anguilla led to him being awarded a MBE at Buckingham Palace, in October of 2005.
He had a great sense humor and enjoyed entertaining his family and friends, whether it was a party with music and dancing, or baffling everyone with some incredible magic tricks. He was especially good with cards tricks and never gave up how. He was a unique individual who will be greatly missed.
