Marcia (Kravetsky) Rubin, 88, passed away on January 27th, 2022 with her family by her side. In her final hours, she left this earth knowing how much she was loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marcia was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Abraham & Mildred (Yorra) Kravetsky, and the younger sister of the late Ruth (Kravetsky) Kozol. After graduating from high school, Marcia accomplished something few women did back in the 1950’s. She went on to attend college and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Lesley University (Lesley College). She was also the captain of their women’s basketball team. She spent her early adult years teaching elementary school.
Marcia was the loving wife of Alvin Rubin for sixty-seven wonderful years. After meeting each other on a blind date, they became inseparable and were engaged a few months later. Their devotion to one another was something most could only dream about. They were fortunate to share a lifetime of love for over six decades. Alvin always referred to Marcia as his sweetheart. She was the love of his life.
In addition to Alvin, Marcia is survived by two daughters, Leslie Levine & her husband Mark, Cindy Dimpfl & her husband Mark, and a son, David Rubin & his wife Laura. Marcia was the loving grandmother of Shari Ryan & her husband Josh, Lori McGeown & her husband Phil, and Steven Levine. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren; Bryce and Brayden Ryan, and Ava and Chase McGeown.
Marcia was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. From her gentle touch and warm smile to her words of wisdom, she was a woman with class and inner strength, never afraid to speak her mind. One of her favorite quotes was: “Smile, and the world smiles with you; cry, and you cry alone.” Those insightful words and Marcia’s memory will live on.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Framingham-Natick Hebrew Cemetery, 40 Windsor Ave., Natick, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marcia Rubin’s name to the American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org
