Marilyn Saks Goldstein passed away on July 6th 2026, after a two year battle with colon cancer.
The middle child of Holocaust survivors Michael and Gizel Saks, Marilyn was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Ohio State University, Marilyn eventually moved to the Boston area, worked many jobs over the years, and loved to travel, exercise, and go to the theatre.
The greatest love of her life was her husband of fifty years, Elliot Goldstein, and their proudest achievement was raising their child, playwright Hayley St. James.
Elliot and Marilyn passed away eight months apart, both from cancer.
In addition to Hayley, Marilyn is also survived by her sisters, Susan Wasserman and Holly Levine, and their extended family, alongside Elliot’s extended family.
Funeral services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington Street, Canton, on Wednesday, August 19th, at 10:00 am. Followed by the burial at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Shiva will take place at the family home following services.
