Marilyn lived a long and full life. She will perhaps best be remembered as an enthusiastic volunteer—the Museum of Science, Newton Family Services, and the National Park Service in Boston are just some of the places where she gave hundreds of hours of her time. When not volunteering, she enjoyed traveling around the world, attending theater and concerts, cooking, restaurants, and spending time with her family.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of S. Richard Harris, who died suddenly in 1990. She is survived by two daughters: Tracy Harris and her husband, Will Hollingsworth, of St. Paul, Minnesota; and Leslie Barrows and her husband, Michael Barrows, of Newton, Massachusetts. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Anthony Hollingsworth, Lydia Hollingsworth and Sara Barrows.
Funeral service will be Friday, August 14 at 11:45 a.m. at Sharon Memorial Park, with Shiva following at the Barrows home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Arthritis Foundation.
