

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved, Marilyn Mallock, who peacefully passed away at the age of 93, on September 3, 2024. Marilyn was born on June 16, 1931 in Quincy, Massachusetts, where she was raised with love and care by her parents, David and Ada Kotock.
She attended Brookline High School and went on to graduate from the prestigious Wellesley College. She married the love of her life, the late Harold Mallock, and together they built a beautiful blended family, creating a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that has touched the lives of everyone who knew her. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Marilyn dedicated her life to her family. She was the heart of the home, always providing a warm embrace, a listening ear, and endless encouragement. Her gentle spirit and loving guidance, always without judgement, shaped the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who were her greatest pride and joy. Her kindness extended far beyond her family. Marilyn was a cherished friend and neighbor, making everyone feel valued. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, and her remarkable ability to bring joy and warmth into every room she entered.
Her legacy of love and kindness will live on through her children, Jerold Tilden and Beth Richter, Mark and Susan Tilden, Jim Mallock and Susan Fitzgibbon, Arthur and Tina Mallock, and Bob and Michelle Mallock; her grandchildren, Matthew and Meagan, Andrea and Adam, Lauren and Bill, Joseph and Trisha, John, David and Dina, Ben, and Ashley; her great-grandchildren, Marlowe, Kenzie, Goldie, Crosby and Eliott; her nieces and nephews, Susan Silverstein, Barry Silverstein and Maria O’Reilly, Ann ‘considered the loving daughter she never had’ and Owen Breitner, Audrey, Alan and Daniel; her great nieces and nephews, Laura, Dana and Howard, Jill, Matthew and Robin and Nikki who she regarded like her own grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold whom she adored, her soulmate and sister Frances, her brother-in-law Philip Silverstein, and her nephew Steven Silverstein, who she proudly helped to raise during his early years.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to two exceptional women…. Nellie and Clara, for the unconditional care and love they gave to Marilyn in her final months. It goes beyond words and is a testament to their character. A special thank you also to her best friend of over fifty years, Roz, who was always by her side.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Marilyn lived a full and beautiful life.
Funeral services for Marilyn will take place at 9:30 a.m.on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA. Interment will immediately follow at Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
Shiva will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2-5 p.m. at the home of Mark and Susan Tilden.
