Marilyn (Adkin) Ossam, Age 86, of Wellesley, entered into rest on November 5, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Seymour Ossam and devoted mother of David Ossam, she was the loving grandmother of James, Michael, and Jeffrey Ossam.
Born in Brooklyn on April 14, 1932, Marilyn grew up in the city and trained at Brooklyn College to become a dental hygienist. Once her son David was born, she shifted focus to homemaking, as caretaker for her family. In 2007, she and Seymour moved to Massachusetts to be near their three grandsons.
Marilyn loved people and was easily able to form meaningful friendships, both on the dancefloor – she took up both disco and square dancing in her 40s – and in her community at Wellesley Hollow. Marilyn loved to spend her time with books, unraveling the mysteries of authors James Patterson, Robert B. Parker and Robert Ludlum to the tunes of her favorite musicians, Engelbert Humperdinck and Tom Jones. Her most cherished thrills, however, came from time with family.
A memorial service will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon Street in Brookline on Sunday, November 11 at 2:30 pm. Friends and family are invited to gather immediately following the service at the home of David Ossam.
